Attending The Eradication Of 214 Tons Of Drugs, Puan Reminds The Importance Of Protection Of The Young Generation For The Sake Of Golden Indonesia

JAKARTA - The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, attended the event to destroy drug evidence from the confiscation of the Indonesian National Police (Polri) at Bhayangkara Field, Police Headquarters, Jakarta.

Puan reminded the importance of eradicating drugs for the future of the nation's next generation.

Puan also witnessed President Prabowo destroying 2.1 tons of 214.84 tons of drug evidence worth Rp29.37 trillion.

Puan also expressed her appreciation to the National Police for their hard work and consistency in eradicating narcotics crimes that continue to threaten the nation.

He emphasized that drugs are not just a matter of law, but a serious threat to the future of the younger generation and the sustainability of the ideals of Indonesia Gold 2045.

"This destruction is not only a symbol of law enforcement, but also a strong reminder for all of us that drugs are the enemy of the nation. If our young generation is caught in drugs, then Indonesia's future will be saved," said Puan in her statement, Wednesday, October 29.

Puan also emphasized the DPR's commitment to fully support the government's steps and law enforcement officials in strengthening policies and budgets related to the prevention, rehabilitation, and eradication of drugs.

However, Puan reminded that the war against drugs cannot only be borne by law enforcement officers, but rather requires a national movement involving families, schools, communities, and the digital world.

"We must fortify young people with character education, moral resilience, and a healthy social environment. Do not let the demographic bonus we have turn into a demographic disaster due to drugs," he said.

Puan assessed that drugs are very clearly damaging to life, including the younger generation of Indonesia. He advised all parties never to be careless against drugs in order to create a golden generation in 2045.

"Never give space for drug trafficking. We must protect the younger generation and the future of the Indonesian nation. Don't let Indonesia Gold 2045 not be achieved because of a drug disaster," he said.

As for the 214.84 tons of drug evidence destroyed today, consisting of 186.7 tons of marijuana, 9.2 tons of crystal methamphetamine, 1.9 tons of gorilla tobacco, 2.1 million pills of ecstasy, 13.1 million pills of hard drugs, 27.9 kilograms of ketaminas, 34.5 kilograms of cocaine, 6.8 kilograms of heroin, 5.5 kilograms of THC, 18 liters of etomodite, 132.9 kilograms of hashish, 1.4 million happy five grains, and 39.7 kilograms of happy water.

From the destruction of the evidence, the National Police managed to save 629 million people from the potential for drug abuse. Puan also appreciated the achievements of the National Police who succeeded in uncovering and confiscating this drug evidence.

Puan emphasized that drugs weaken and threaten Indonesia's human resources (HR). According to him, narcotics abuse reduces the performance, health, and social capacity, as well as damages the economy and morals as well as the quality of human resources belonging to the Indonesian nation.

"The use of drugs, especially by the younger generation, is a serious threat to the healthy and productive development of human resources. The fight against drugs is a must so that drugs do not weaken the development of the nation's human resources," said Puan.

In the context of heading to Indonesia Gold 2045, Puan emphasized that the development of superior and healthy human resources is the main foundation. Therefore, she invites all elements of the nation to jointly protect the younger generation from the threat of drugs by strengthening education, digital literacy, and creating productive spaces for the creativity of young people.

"Drugs can destroy a generation, and if a generation is lost, then the nation's future will also be lost. Let's make sure Indonesia Gold 2045 is not just a dream, but a real legacy for a generation free of drugs," he concluded.
