Commission VIII DPR Decides Hajj Fees To Drop By IDR 2 Million To IDR 87.4 Million Per Congregation

JAKARTA - The House of Representatives Commission VIII Hajj Committee together with the government have discussed the costs of Hajj in 1449 Hijri or 2026 AD. As a result, it was agreed that the 2026 Hajj fee would be IDR 87.4 million, a decrease of IDR 2 million from last year's Hajj costs.

The 2026 Hajj Travel Fee (Bipih) that must be paid by the congregation is IDR 54,194,366 per person from the total Hajj Implementation Fee (BPIH) of IDR 87,409,366.

"We will make a decision on the amount of the Hajj costs in 1947 H or 2026 masehi amounting to Rp. 87,409,366. So this is down from Rp. 1 million from the government's proposal of Rp. 88 million," said Deputy Chairman of Commission VIII DPR Abdul Wachid at the House of Representatives Commission VIII meeting, Jakarta, Wednesday, October 29.

That figure decreased by IDR 2 million from last year's cost. Where last year's Hajj cost was IDR 89 million.

"Or a decrease of IDR 2,893,000 compared to BPIH in 1946 Hijri," he said.

Previously, the Chairman of Commission VIII of the DPR, Marwan Dasopang, said that the amount of the Hajj Travel Cost (Bipih) was at IDR 53 million per congregation. In total, the 2026 hajj costs decreased by IDR 2 million per congregation compared to 2025.

This agreement was taken by the DPR Hajj Committee and the government in a meeting on Tuesday, October 28, which was held behind closed doors.

"We finally agreed after the government's proposal fell by another Rp. 1 million," said Marwan.

Marwan ensured that with the decrease in the cost of Hajj 2026, the quality of service would not decrease.
