JAKARTA - Member of Commission II of the DPR RI Ali Ahmad supports the proposal that Government Employees with Work Agreements (PPPK) can be appointed as Civil Servants (PNS).
According to him, the status of civil servants provides better stability and economic protection guarantees for state servants.
"PPPK has proven their dedication and professionalism. Therefore, they should be given the same opportunity to become civil servants so that they have better certainty and welfare," said Ali Ahmad to reporters in Jakarta, Wednesday, October 29.
He explained that the status of civil servants provides more complete employment rights, such as pension allowances, family allowances, and health insurance, which have a direct impact on the welfare and work motivation of employees.
In addition, Ali assessed that the appointment of PPPK to become a civil servant would also open up wider career opportunities, considering that civil servants have a career level system and clearer promotion opportunities.
"By becoming civil servants, employees have room to develop their careers and self-potentials more planned and sustainable," said the PKB legislator from the East Java Electoral Region.
Ali said that the DPR is currently discussing the revision of the State Civil Apparatus Law (UU ASN).
According to him, the proposal to appoint PPPK to become a civil servant can be included in the revision process, as long as there is a joint commitment between the DPR and the government.
"We in the DPR are certainly open to discussing and fighting for this aspiration. But of course, the final decision really depends on the mutual agreement with the government," he explained.
He hopes that the revision of the ASN Law will be more in favor of welfare and justice for all state apparatus, including for PPPK who have served for a long time.
