JAKARTA - The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) emphasized that the Free Nutrition Food (MBG) menu should not use manufacturer materials or which contain too many preservatives.
Deputy Head of BGN Nanik S. Deyang when met after the finalization meeting of the MBG Program regulation in Jakarta, conveyed this to respond to the many menus given to both students and pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and toddlers in the form of snacks or biscuits.
"Later it will not be allowed, factory materials are not allowed, everyone must use nutritious food ingredients," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, October 28.
He emphasized that BGN would reprimand the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) which still violates standard operating procedures (SOP) by providing factory food in the MBG menu.
"Yes, be reprimanded, you can't," said Nanik.
To note, MBG has reached 39.2 million beneficiaries per day with an absorption of a budget of IDR 35 trillion.
"There are already 13,347 Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) with 39.2 million beneficiaries. Now the budget absorption has reached Rp35 trillion," said Head of BGN Dadan Hindayana.

He explained that the Presidential Regulation (Perpres) on Governance of MBG regulates the importance of inter-institutional relations for programs to improve the nutritional quality of the nation's children.
"This Presidential Regulation regulates the importance of regulating inter-institutional relations, when it comes to technical matters such as the management of SPPG, cleanliness, and food safety in the kitchen are already in technical instructions and standard operating procedures (SOP)," he said.
Dadan said the government was optimistic that it could catch up to 82.9 million beneficiaries by the end of this year.
The Head of BGN also said that there are 690 Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) that already have a Sanitation Higiene Feasibility Certificate (SLHS).
To date, 13,347 SPPGs have been found throughout Indonesia. BGN targets all Free Nutrition Food (MBG) kitchens to get SLHS within this month.
"It's been 690 (who has SLHS). In a month (it will be fulfilled)," he said.
Dadan said that every day BGN is able to verify up to 200 SPPGs. Through collaboration with various parties, BGN is also building up to 6,000 SPPGs in remote areas.
