Meeting Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X, KPK Chair Discusses 2025 Hakordia Commemoration In Yogyakarta

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Setyo Budiyanto met the Governor of the Special Region of Yogyakarta Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X at the Yogyakarta Palace today. The two discussed the implementation of World Anti-Corruption Day (Hakordia) 2025 which is celebrated every December 9.

"It's true, today the Chairman of the KPK, Mr. Setyo Budiyanto, has an audience with the Governor of Yogyakarta, Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X in preparation for the initial preparations for the World Anti-corruption Day commemoration plan, which is commemorated every year on December 9," said KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo in his statement, Tuesday, October 28.

"This year, the series of activities are planned to be centered in Yogyakarta," he continued.

Budi said Yogyakarta was chosen because the city is known as a city of education and a city of culture. This condition is in line with efforts to eradicate corruption, especially through the course of prevention and education.

In addition, Jogja is one of the local governments that has good governance.

"In the Jogja area, the KPK previously also piloted anti-corruption village programs, which are currently growing and are already in every province throughout Indonesia. Including its development, namely cities/anti-corruption districts," said Budi.

According to Budi, Yogyakarta Governor Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono X responded positively. He gave full support by facilitating several places to commemorate Hakordia 2025 later.

"Hopefully this activity will involve more people, students, students, including culturalists and art workers, as well as MSMEs," concluded Budi.
