Demo Incitement Case: Judge Rejects Pretrial Khariq Anhar, Determination Of Suspect According To Procedure

JAKARTA - The South Jakarta District Court Judge rejected all pretrial applications submitted by the activist and admin of the Plaintiff's Student Alliance, Khariq Anhar, regarding the alleged incitement case in the demonstration on August 25, 2025.

"Trial, one, rejects the petitioner's pretrial application in its entirety," said Tunggal Judge Sulistyo Muhamad Dwi Putro during a verdict hearing at the South Jakarta District Court, Antara, Monday, October 27.

The judge stated that the determination of the suspect and the confiscation in the case that ensnared Khariq had been carried out according to legal procedures.

Thus, the two pretrial applications submitted were declared legally groundless.

"To charge the applicant with zero court fees," said Judge Sulistyo.

Khariq's pretrial application was recorded in two case numbers, namely 131/Pid.Pra/2025/PN JKT.SEL and 128/Pid.Pra/2025/PN JKT.SEL. The first case concerns whether or not the determination of the suspect is valid with the respondent. Metro Jaya Regional Police Chief, Asep Edi Suheri.

Meanwhile, the second case related to whether or not the confiscation was legal with the respondent, the Director of Cyber Investigation of the Polda Metro Jaya.

During the trial, the judge also responded to a number of requests from Khariq's attorney, including the matter of determining the location of the trial and summoning the respondent.

It is known that Khariq Anhar was a Riau University (UNRI) student who was arrested at Soekarno-Hatta Airport on Friday (29/8) for allegedly being involved in a demonstration plan.

He was later named a suspect by the Polda Metro Jaya for alleged violations of the Law on Information and Electronic Transactions (ITE).
