Khofifah Says Kutorejo Nganjuk Bridge Is Ready To Function On November 12, 2025

East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa revealed that the reconstruction of the Kutorejo Bridge in Nganjuk Regency was almost complete and ready to function in mid-November 2025.

"God willing, the Kutorejo Bridge will be completed on November 12, 2025. We want to ensure that all work goes according to the target so that the mobility of people in this area returns smoothly," said Governor Khofifah as quoted by ANTARA, Sunday, November 26.

The Kutorejo Nganjuk Bridge previously suffered heavy damage in March 2022, after the north side collapsed due to frequent large vehicles and age factors for the bridge structure.

After that incident, the route was closed and a bailey type emergency bridge was built in April 2022 as a temporary solution so that the mobility of residents continued.

Governor Khofifah explained, in 2025, the East Java Provincial Government carried out a total reconstruction of the bridge as part of the program to improve inter-regional connectivity infrastructure.

According to him, the reconstruction of the Kutorejo Nganjuk Bridge became a strategic project in the district, because later the bridge would connect two major sub-districts in Nganjuk, namely Bagor and Rejoso sub-districts.

The governor is also optimistic that the functioning of the bridge can facilitate the mobility of people in Bagor and Rejoso sub-districts, Nganjuk Regency.

"In addition, the bridge can be an alternative route for people who want to go to Bojonegoro Regency. We continue to coordinate so that the bridge is completed on time," he said.

At the Kutorejo Nganjuk bridge, construction has now been carried out, namely the bridge foundation using a bore pile, followed by the bridge administration and work on sheet pile (CCSP) for bridge administrators and then the installation of a frame bridge.

The process of working on this bridge will begin on March 18, 2025 and is targeted to be completed until October 19, 2025.

He has also directly reviewed the process of working on the bridge.

"The progress of the work reached 93.74 percent. We are targeting it to be completed, God willing, 12 November 2025," he said.

Khofifah juga mengatakan setelah jembatan selesai dibangun, masih ada pekerjaan rumah untuk membuat plengsengan di sisi Utara dan Selatan.

Tujuannya adalah melindungi tanah di sekitar jembatan dari erosi akibat arus deras saat banjir, sehingga memastikan stabilitas dan keamanan jembatan serta akses yang aman bagi masyarakat.

"Pekerjaan rumah selanjutnya membuat plengsengan. Kita terus berikhtiar agar manfaatnya bisa segera dirasakan masyarakat," kata dia.

Khofifah also said that after the bridge was completed, there was still homework to make a plea on the north and south sides.

The goal is to protect the soil around the bridge from erosion due to heavy currents during floods, thus ensuring the stability and security of bridges and safe access for the community.

"Housework then creates a plengsengan. We continue to strive so that the benefits can be felt by the community immediately," he said.
