East Java Deputy Governor Emil Dardak Says Islamic Boarding School Is The Lighting Of National Sciences

Deputy Governor of East Java (Jatim) Emil Elestianto Dardak called Islamic boarding schools (ponpes) a beacon of knowledge and morality that played a major role in building the nation from various aspects of life.

"Alhamdulillah, it is an honor to be part of the peak of the commemoration of the birthday to 200 Years of the Bahrul Ulum Tambakberas Jombang Islamic Boarding School," said Deputy Governor (Deputy Governor) Emil Elestianto Dardak as quoted by ANTARA, Sunday, October 26.

According to him, 200 years is a very long time and it is not easy for an institution to last so long.

"However, the Tambakberas Islamic Boarding School has proven that the increase in years becomes stronger and more entrenched," he added.

He considered Islamic boarding schools to be a beacon of knowledge and morality that contributed greatly to building the nation from the economic, social, cultural, moral, and moral aspects.

"This is a beacon of knowledge and morality since two centuries ago, since 1825. If Indonesia wants to stand strong, let's make sure Islamic boarding schools become the pillars of the strong support for the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia," he said.

He explained that the education system in Islamic boarding schools combines religious education and general knowledge, where students are formed with moral, moral, and noble character values.

Furthermore, Emil added, the pesantren education system was not restrained by the times, because it instilled spiritual values and intellectuality for students who formed patriotic characters.

"We will welcome the arrival of November 10. Maybe there won't be November 10 if there is no story of jihad resolution, because many of them died on the battlefield on November 10 were extraordinary patriot students," he said.

He hopes that at the age of the Bahrul Ulum Islamic Boarding School which is in the third century, the pesantren will play a more important role in forming santri to contribute to the nation's development.

"Entering the age of the third century, hopefully will be a more special century for East Java, Indonesia and the world," he concluded.

In line with Deputy Governor Emil, Vice President (Wapres) of Indonesia for the 13th period 2019 '2024, Ma'ruf Amin said the Bahrul Ulum Tambakberas Jombang Islamic Boarding School for two centuries had contributed greatly to producing scholars.

Two centuries Bahrul Ulum Islamic Boarding School has become a kiai factory. So, continuing to produce kiai, how many kiai have been generated is an extraordinary investment. If there is no cottage, there will be no kiai. If this hut is destroyed, it means the kiai factory stops," said Ma'ruf Amin.

The cleric, said Ma'ruf Amin, had a rabbani mistax, namely the agreement of Allah with the prophet.

"Ulamama waratsatul anbiya, then the kiai are heirs and successors to the prophet. The task of the scholars is a strong agreement to carry out da'wah ilallah," he said.

Ma'ruf hopes that the third-century Bahrul Ulum Islamic Boarding School students will be able to produce generations of great students such as Syarah Al Hikam, namely having sufficient knowledge, high sensitivity, and a resilient attitude.

Sementara itu, Pengasuh Pondok Pesantren (PP) Bahrul Ulum Tambakberas Jombang Kiai Hasib Wahab Hasbullah mengatakan peringatan dua abad ini menjadi momentum bersejarah dan istimewa.

“Peringatan 2 abad ini istimewa karena tidak akan diperingati lagi sampai menginjak usia 3 abad. Ini adalah momentum yang sangat meriah, kita sambut kegembiraan memasuki usia ke-200 tahunnya,” kata Kiai Hasib Wahab.

Kiai Wahab berharap peringatan dua abad ini menjadi warisan ilmu dan semangat bagi Ponpes Bahrul Ulum Tambakberas untuk terus mengembangkan sistem pendidikan Islam yang lebih maju di Indonesia.

Meanwhile, the caretaker of the Bahrul Ulum Islamic Boarding School (PP) Tambakberas Jombang Kiai Hassib Wahab Hasbullah said the two-century commemoration was a historic and special momentum.

This 2 century commemoration is special because it will no longer be commemorated until the age of 3 centuries. This is a very lively momentum, we welcome the joy of entering its 200th anniversary," said Kiai Hasib Wahab.

Kiai Wahab hopes that this two-century anniversary will become a legacy of knowledge and enthusiasm for the Bahrul Ulum Tambakberas Islamic Boarding School to continue to develop a more advanced Islamic education system in Indonesia.
