Minister Pigai Calls For Stop Bullying, Asks Campus To Strictly Monitor Students

DENPASAR - Human Rights Minister Natalius Pigai asked educational institutions from the lower levels to universities to oversee the system for preventing bullying.

When visiting Udayana University, to monitor developments in the handling of the death of a Udayana University FISIP student with the initials TAS (22), Natalius revealed that bullying is a phenomenon that occurs almost at all levels of education units.

"Bullyingini is happening everywhere. Starting from elementary, junior high, high school, there are bullying actions. Universities have bullying actions. The general public is also bullying," he said, Friday, October 24.

Therefore, Human Rights Minister Natalius asked all leaders, especially at the education level, to supervise and evaluate the system for preventing violence or bullying to save the nation's generation.

Technically, he said, at the university level, the rectors were asked to implement the Permendikbudristek guidelines Number 55 of 2024 concerning the Handling of Cases of Violence in Higher Education.

"So, don't just after the implementation is issued and then stay silent. You have to continue to monitor, you have to do coaching, implementation, discussion, dialogue, monitoring, and evaluation so that we can minimize bullying actions that occur," he said.

Shortly before leaving Udayana University Campus Sudirman Denpasar, Natalius had issued a poster that read "Stop bully, starting to appreciate" as a form of anti-bullying campaign.

"This is for all of Indonesia, yes, not just Udayana. This (for) all of Indonesia, please help the Indonesian people build civilization," said Natalius.
