JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) ensures that it is ready to cooperate with anyone to prevent corrupt practices, including with the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu).
This was conveyed by the KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo in response to the institution's data used by the Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewo when mentioning a number of corruption cases, among them related to an audit conducted by the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) in Sorong, Papua and Meranti, Riau.
"Of course, the KPK together with the Ministry of Finance have the same spirit to encourage continuous improvement in governance," Budi told reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, quoted on Friday, October 24.
Budi said this condition made the anti-corruption commission ready to help Purbaya's desire to improve governance. "This means that this community is our target for us to provide services for us to prepare, we provide development that can really encourage, improve welfare and also the socio-economic level," he said.
The KPK also agrees that corruption, which is discussed by Purbaya, is indeed homework that must be completed. So that the principles of good governance can really be applied throughout the regional government," said Budi.
Purbaya is known to have doubts about increasing the allocation of the Transfer to Regions (TKD) budget. This is because the KPK data shows that there are still many practices of misappropriation of power in the regions, including buying and selling positions.
"KPK data also reminds us that in the last three years there have been many cases in the regions, from BPK audit bribes in Sorong and Meranti, buying and selling positions in Bekasi, to fictitious BUMD projects in South Sumatra. This means that this governance reform has not been completed," he said during the 2025 Regional Inflation Control Coordination Meeting at the Ministry of Home Affairs on Monday, October 20.
In addition, Purbaya also talked about the low 2024 KPK Integrity Assessment Survey (SPI). On a national scale, he said, the score was still 71.53 which was below the 74 target.

Meanwhile, all local governments, continued Purbaya, are still in the vulnerable category, aka the red zone, with the results of the provincial level SPI on average 67 and districts or cities 69.
"So this is not safe yet. The KPK said the source of the risk is still that, buying and selling positions, gratuities, procurement interventions, even though if it is not resolved all development programs can be leaked halfway through," he said at the time.
