The Government Optimistic Of Hajj Village Presses The Cost Of Worship To The Holy Land

Minister of Hajj and Umrah Mochamad Irfan Yusuf is optimistic that the operation of the Hajj Village, which is currently still in the process of negotiating and auctioning the land for development, will reduce the cost of Hajj.

"God willing, if it can be localized 200 thousand people in one place, it can reduce the cost of Hajj," said Mochamad Irfan Yusufdi as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, October 22.

The Minister of Hajj, who is familiarly called Gus Irfan, explained that the technical calculation of funding for the construction of the Hajj Village was all carried out by the Anagata Nusantara Power Investment Management Agency (Danantara Indonesia).

"We, the Ministry of Hajj, are only users," he said.

However, he stated that his party would provide input on what facilities need to be completed in the Hajj Village to accommodate the needs and activities of the congregation while in the Holy Land.

He hopes that one or two towers in Kampung Haji can operate and be used to accommodate Indonesian pilgrims in 2028.

"Until the end there are dozens of towers because there are 200 thousand worshipers who need a place," he said.

Gus Irfan said the ministry he leads is reviewing the reduction in hajj costs, as ordered by President Prabowo Subianto.

Last year's regular hajj costs ranged from IDR 89.4 million, which fell from the previous period of IDR 93.4 million.

According to him, lowering the cost of Hajj is not easy because it has to take into account several things, such as dollar prices and riyal components.

If the price is still fixed but there is a depreciation of the rupiah, then the nyola also goes up.

"We have just received a decline in the mass sector, that's Arafah's service, Muzdalifah, Mina has decreased by 200 riyals (Rp886,432) per person starting this year," he said.

Therefore, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah is now looking for ways so that the cost of Hajj can be lowered. He believes that the efforts made will bring good results in the future.

"The DPR is still on the 27th to form a Working Committee (Panja) for Hajj Travel Costs, we will negotiate later," he said.
