Minister Of PKP Promises To Increase The Quota For Subsidized Houses In Jember To 10 Thousand Units

JEMBER - Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP) Maruarar Sirait promised an additional quota of subsidized houses in the Jember area, East Java. The quota target was increased from 8 thousand to 10 thousand units in 2026 according to a request from the Regent of Jember, Muhammad Fawait.

"Initially the Regent of Jember asked for an additional quota of 8 thousand subsidized housing units, but because I saw extraordinary enthusiasm, I added another quota of 2 thousand, so that it became 10 thousand units," he said while attending the socialization of people's housing loans in the PB Sudirman hall of the Jember Regency Government Office (Pemkab), citing ANTARA on Sunday, October 19.

According to him, the addition of the quota is a form of appreciation for the commitment of the Jember Regency Government in accelerating the realization of the national program of a million houses and the quality of subsidized housing buildings is also good with a score of 8.5 on a scale of 10.

"The Regent of Jember has been ready to implement pro-people policies, such as the exemption of Customs for Obtaining Land and Building Rights (BPHTB) and Building Approval (PBG) according to instructions from Mr. President Prabowo," he said.

With 2.5 months remaining, he continued, the government targets Jember to build as many as 1,500 subsidized houses and next year the quota will be 10 thousand units, so all need to support the program.

He hopes that the President's program of 3 million houses can be supported by the Regent of Jember, so that it can provide welfare for people who do not have a home.

"The housing credit program provides interest subsidies for developers, contractors and building shops that are included in the MSME criteria because there has never been a program to provide credit interest of up to 5 percent and the housing KUR is also running," he said.

He explained that services to the community must be facilitated and accelerated, which must also be supported by banks, so that it does not take long for the community to get a housing KUR application.

Meanwhile, the Regent of Jember Muhammad Fawait welcomed the additional quota of subsidized houses provided by the Minister of PKP for the welfare of the people of Jember.

"I am very happy and welcome what the Minister said because of the additional quota, so that it becomes a good signal for economic growth in Jember, and in the future all Jember residents must have a house," he said.

The minister, who is familiarly called Ara, came to attend the Housing Credit Socialization and Housing Financing Liquidity Facility (FLPP) PB Sudirman hall at the Jember Regency Government Office on Saturday (18/10) night around 21.00 WIB and the event ended at around 22.30 WIB.
