French Woman Died Dragged By Kelingking Beach Waves

Female Foreign Citizen (WNA) from France, Alena Andreeva Oparina (32), was found dead, after being reported drowned in the waters of Kelingking Beach, Nusa Penida, Klungkung Regency, Bali.

The woman of foreign nationals (WNA) from France, Alena Andreeva Oparina (32), was found dead, after being reported drowned in the waters of Kelingking Beach, Nusa Penida District, Klungkung Regency, Bali.

The victim swam around 13.00 WITA and was swept away by the current. Several people who were at the location tried to save but the victim could not be helped.

The Denpasar Search and Rescue Office received this information at around 13.40 WITA.

"The report we received from Mr. Ketut Suantara, as Babinsa of Bunga Mekar Village, said that the victim who was swept away by the current was dead, and evacuation assistance was needed to bring him up on a cliff," said Head of the Denpasar Search and Rescue Office, I Nyoman Sidakarya, Wednesday, October 15.

Five personnel from the Nusa Penida SAR Alert unit rushed to Kelingking Beach by land. They arrived at around 15.00 WITA and descended to Kelingking Beach.

"The joint SAR team was quite tired of bringing the victim up, seeing the narrow and steep condition of the steps," he said.

"Finally at around 18.15 WITA, they reached the top of the cliff. Then the victim's body was taken to the Nusa Medika Clinic by ambulance," he said.
