Surya Paloh And Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin's Meeting Is Considered Kental For Political Affairs

Political observer Hendri Satrio assessed that the meeting of Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin with the General Chair of the Nasdem Party, Surya Paloh, was more full of political interests than ministry affairs.

Bearing in mind, Sjafrie is one of the close people to President Prabowo Subianto and also comes from AKABRI graduates in the same class.

"Sjafrie's meeting with political parties was stronger in the political aura compared to the issue of the Ministry of Defense's domain, so that this meeting could be imaged as a political party meeting with Sjafrie as a person close to Prabowo," Hendri told reporters, Wednesday, October 15.

Hendri assessed that this momentum could be related to the internal dynamics within Nasdem, especially after a number of party cadres were known to have changed course to other parties.

"The big question is, does this meeting involve the move of Nasdem cadres to other political parties? This must also be explained exactly what this meeting meant," said Hendri.

Hendri also believes that the meeting between Sjafrie and Surya Paloh was carried out with the knowledge of the Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs Budi Gunawan.

"I believe that this meeting was informed by the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, but what is clear is that the meeting was again stronger than discussing the issues of the Ministry of Defense," he said.

Chairman of the NasDem Party, Surya Paloh, admitted that he received "vitamins" after meeting Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin at the Ministry of Defense office. The vitamin, he said, is a variety of inputs that have been encouraging and are expected to give birth to a stronger and stronger motivation.

"So, this strengthens and encourages each other. That's in essence," Paloh said at a press conference after the meeting, Wednesday, October 15.

That way, he also hopes that the "vitamins" can provide confidence in the awareness that the nation's struggle will still be able to be faced together well.

"But in my discussion with the Minister of Defense, communication cannot always be understood, reported, and known by friends of the press," he said.

In addition, he said the conversation between the two did not entirely lead to NasDem's position outside the cabinet.

Therefore, he emphasized that the conversation was specifically related to the optimism that was still there and had to be better maintained in order to build optimism, not only for NasDem, but for all components and other elements of society.
