Prosecutors Demand Death Penalty For Dealers 190 Kilograms Of Shabu In Bireuen Aceh

BANDA ACEH - The public prosecutor of the Bireuen District Attorney's Office (Kejari) has charged a defendant in a methamphetamine drug dealer weighing 190 kilograms with a criminal or death penalty.

The claim was read out by Public Prosecutor (JPU) Leni Fuji Astuti during a trial at the Bireuen District Court in Bireuen, Aceh Province, Monday yesterday and quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, October 14.

The defendant is on behalf of Mustafa. The defendant was present at the trial accompanied by his legal adviser.

The prosecutor stated that the defendant was legally and convincingly proven guilty of violating Article 114 Paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 132 Paragraph (1) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 35 Year 2009 concerning narcotics.

Based on the facts at the trial, said the prosecutor, the defendant Mustafa and someone called Rabat, who is now on the wanted list (DPO), met someone with Fatdan's call, as well as DPO, at Kedai Pandrah, Bireuen Regency, on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at around 01.00 WIB.

The meeting took place at a coffee shop. Then, the defendant and Rabat got into a car to a place around Kedai Pandrah. The defendant had asked Rabat where the methamphetamine type drugs were going.

The relative who was driving the car accelerated the speed of the vehicle because someone was chasing him. Not long after, the car the defendant was traveling in hit a truck.

The defendant saw that Rabat opened the door and fled. Meanwhile, when the defendant got out of the car, there was already a team of the NIC Task Force at the National Police Headquarters. The team immediately arrested the defendant and secured the methamphetamine-type drugs in the car.

Regarding the demands of the public prosecutor, the defendant and his legal adviser stated that they would file a plea or defense.

The panel of judges continued their trial on Monday (20/10) with the agenda of hearing the defendant's defense or plea and legal counsel.
