Praka Zaenal Who Died During Preparation For The 80th Anniversary Of The TNI Collised In The Air

Head of the Information Center (Kapuspen) TNI Headquarters Major General (Mar) Freddy Adianzah explained that Praka Zaenal Mutaqim, a soldier who died in the sailing pass incident during preparations for the TNI's 80th Anniversary in Jakarta Bay, Thursday, October 2.

Praka Zaenal had a collision in the air with another paratroopers during the Rubber Duck Operation (RDO) simulation.

"The process at the time of exit from the plane then opened the parachute, then there was a collision," said Freddy when met at TNI Headquarters, Cilangkap, East Jakarta, Thursday, October 9, confiscated by Antara.

Freddy assessed that the collision could occur due to several factors, ranging from wind conditions during parachuting to technical problems in plunging and opening parachutes.

After being hit, continued Freddy, Praka Zaenal still had time to open a parachute until he finally landed on the sea surface. However, Zaenal's condition when he landed was half-aware.

"The condition at that time was conscious but it was a situation that felt like that," explained Freddy.

Zaenal was immediately rushed to the Army Central Hospital (RSPAD) Gatot Subroto for medical treatment. Zaenal was pronounced dead two days later, to be precise Saturday, October 4.

Reflecting on the incident, Freddy ensured that his staff would evaluate the entire series of methods for the TNI's anniversary, including the soldier's safety system.

With this evaluation, Freddy hopes that next year's TNI Anniversary can run better and not take lives.
