JAKARTA - Palestinian militant group Hamas confirmed the first phase of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, urging mediators to force Israel to comply.
Confirming the deal has been reached, Hamas in a statement urged US President Donald Trump and the countries involved to force Israel to fully adhere to the deal, quoted from BBC 9 October.
Hamas said the agreement would "end the war in Gaza, ensure the full withdrawal of the occupation forces, allow the entry of humanitarian aid, and carry out prisoner swaps".
The Palestinian militant group then thanked Qatar, Egypt, Turkey, and US President Donald Trump for their mediation efforts.
The people of Gaza "have shown unrivaled courage, honor, and heroism", Hamas added.
"We will never ignore the national rights of our people until freedom, independence and self-determination are achieved," said Hamas.
As previously reported, US President Donald Trump announced that the militant group Hamas and Israel had approved its "first phase" plan to end the Gaza war.
"I am very proud to announce that Israel and Hamas have signed the first phase of our Peace Plan... HAPPY WITH THE PEACE BRINGERS!" - President Donald J. Trump," the White House wrote on social media X.

"The mediators announced that tonight an agreement has been reached on all the terms and mechanisms for implementing the first phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement, which will lead to the end of the war, the release of Israeli hostages and Palestinian prisoners, as well as the entry of aid," Al Ansari tweeted on social media X.
"The details will be announced later," he added.
It is known that militant groups Hamas and Israel with US, Egyptian and Qatar mediators continued Gaza's indirect ceasefire negotiations, discussing a 21-point proposal initiated by President Trump, in a meeting held at the Sharm el-Sheikh resort, Egypt since Monday.
