JAKARTA - The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) has confirmed that all the bodies of the victims of the ruins of the Al Khoziny Islamic Boarding School (Ponpes) in Buduran, Sidoarjo Regency, East Java have been found by the joint SAR team.
Deputy for Emergency Management of BNPB Budi Irawan in a press conference in Jakarta, Tuesday, October 7, said a total of 63 bodies were successfully evacuated from the scene.
All the bodies have been found. From that total, 61 are in complete condition and there are seven in the form of body pieces,' Budi said in front of reporters at the emergency response post at the Al Khoziny Islamic Boarding School yard.
He explained, based on the results of temporary identification, all the bodies were thought to have come from inside the boarding school complex which has now been flattened to the ground.
The area is currently clean from collapsed building materials, so it is very unlikely that there are still bodies left there.

Nevertheless, he said, the clarity of the final number of victims is still waiting for the results of further identification by the National Police's Disaster Victim Identification (DVI) team, especially to ensure that the seven body parts found were the two victims who were reported missing.
"From a technical point of view, Basarnas operations have been deemed complete because there are no more signs of victims under the rubble. However, the certainty of the number of victims can only be officially confirmed after the DVI process is complete," Budi emphasized.
