JAKARTA - The Ukrainian military attack targeted the city of Belgorod in Russia to create a mass power outage.

Tass reported Monday 6 October, as many as 40,000 residents in Belgorod were affected by the power outage last night local time.

Belgorod governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said an emergency response team was trying to restore power outages to this day.

"We heard reports from energy experts regarding the damage caused by the shooting in Belgorod last night. We have suffered significant power supply damage in seven municipalities of nearly 40,000 [residents of the region] to date <...> [still] without electricity," he said in a video posted on a private Telegram channel.

Gladkov added that the emergency response team will start jumping in tomorrow Tuesday to restore electricity in residential buildings, social facilities, and commercial companies.

The city of Belgorod also became a Ukrainian attack on Thursday last week that left 16 people injured.

The attack last week came one day before the US-Russian summit discussed the war in Ukraine.
