Tragedy In Suban Hot Water Suban Rejang Lebong: A 10-year-old Boy Drowns When Mother Changes Clothes

REJANG LEBONG - A 10-year-old student from Kepahiang Regency, Bengkulu Province, died after drowning in a hot water sub-water shower pool, Rejang Lebong Regency, on Sunday at around 17.00 WIB.

Head of Public Rejang Lebong Police, AKP Sinar Simanjuntak, said the victim was named Desi Bintang Ramadhani (10), a resident of Daspetah Village, Ujan Mas District, Kepahiang Regency.

"The victim was given first aid by other visitors using oxygen, then taken to An-Nissa Hospital, but was declared dead," he said in Rejang Lebong, Antara, Sunday, October 5.

The incident began when the victim and her mother, Dita Marlena (36), and a number of relatives came to the Pemandian Suban Air Panas tourist location at around 15.00 WIB to soak.

At around 16.30 WIB, the mother invited Desi to change clothes after finishing swimming. But without his mother's knowledge, the victim returned to the pool to take a shower.

Not long after, other visitors shouted that a child had drowned. The mother who heard the screams immediately looked at the pool and found her child had drowned," said AKP Sinar.

Officers from the Selupu Rejang Police and the Rejang Lebong Police immediately went to the location to conduct an investigation of the scene and asked for statements from witnesses.

The results of an external examination carried out by the ER medical team at An-Nissa Hospital did not find any signs of violence on the victim's body.

"The victim's family refused an autopsy, and the body has been taken to the funeral home in Daspetah Village, Kepahiang Regency," said Sinar Simanjuntak.
