Jembrana Police, Bali returned bags containing a number of valuables belonging to Chinese nationals, who had previously left on the ship while crossing from Java Island to Bali.

"The bag containing valuables and money was left behind when he crossed from Java Island to Bali after traveling to Mount Bromo," said Jembrana Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head AKP I Made Suarta Wijaya as reported by ANTARA, Friday, October 3.

He said the bag that was left on the ship from Ketapang Port, Banyuwangi Regency, East Java to Gilimanuk Harbor, Jembrana Regency on Thursday (2/10) afternoon was found by other passengers and was taken to Denpasar.

After receiving a report from Li Wen (30), the owner of the bag, the Jembrana Police conducted an investigation including checking CCTV and lists of ship passengers to finding the person suspected of carrying the bag.

"We had no trouble taking the bag, because the person who found it was also cooperative," he said.

Jembrana Police Chief AKBP Kadek Citra Dewi Suparwati said, from the information that found the bag, the person concerned deliberately brought it to meet directly with the owner to hand it over himself.

"According to him, he had tried to find the owner of the bag but couldn't find it. He wanted to leave it to someone else, he was afraid that it would not reach the owner. Finally he brought it," he said.

Li Wen's bag, the trader in Chongqing, contained a camera for Rp. 31 million, Rp. 4 million in cash and important documents such as passports.

"These Chinese are tourists who visit Mount Bromo and want to go to Bali," he said.

Li Wen after receiving his bag at the Jembrana Police Station expressed his gratitude to the police.

'Professionalism, efficiency and enthusiasm are the most beautiful in Bali. Later I will travel back to Bali," he said through an interpreter.
