JAKARTA - Minister of Hajj and Umrah Mochamad Irfan Yusuf or Gus Irfan said the hajj budget leak was IDR 5 trillion per new year in the form of potential.

This was conveyed when he was asked about the statement by his deputy, Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak, who stated that there was an alleged leak of the hajj budget of Rp. 5 trillion. He said that that much figure came after the calculation of experts with the basis of the circulation of money for the implementation of worship.

"The circulation of money in Hajj is around Rp. 17-20 trillion. The researchers said that the leak that occurred in Indonesia was 20-30 percent, well, if we use that figure, it is likely that there will be around Rp. 5 trillion, it will be found," said Gus Irfan to reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Friday, October 3.

This potential, continued Gus Irfan, is expected to be followed up by law enforcement officials so that budget leaks can be prevented.

"It's just potential, we need to later friends from APH who are probably investigating the possibility of such findings," he said.

Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak previously revealed that there was a budget leak of IDR 5 trillion per year in the implementation of the pilgrimage. His party will then ask for supervision from the Attorney General's Office.

The total cost of Hajj implementation reached IDR 17 trillion. The leak is said to have occurred in the range of 20-30 percent.

The main structure of the implementation of the pilgrimage is divided into 10 main procurement processes, of which the largest is air transportation, sharia services, catering, and accommodation in Saudi Arabia. The potential for leakage is expected at all these stages.
