CIANJUR - The Cianjur Regency Government, West Java has temporarily suspended two Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) because they are still in the process of being investigated for poisoning that befell dozens of students after eating Free Nutrition (MBG).

Cianjur Regent Mohammad Wahyu Ferdian said the MBG program in Cianjur Regency was still running even though two service providers were temporarily suspended during the examination process related to student poisoning.

"We have evaluated the MBG and discussed it with the Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), where for the problematic SPPG in Cianjur we will temporarily stop, while the others are still running," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, October 2.

He explained that currently in Cianjur Regency there are 140 SPPGs spread from north to south, so that by being dismissed, two SPPGs will not have an impact because the process is quite good.

To ensure supervision and distribution to schools, his party formed an MBG Task Force involving various stakeholders targeted to be completed in the next week, so that they can immediately serve.

"The existence of the MBG Task Force which is being formed and immediately working to strengthen supervision so that cases of poisoning do not return to students in Cianjur as beneficiaries," he said.

Regarding the needs of public kitchens, the Cianjur Regency Government has only prepared four points in a number of sub-districts, with a target in October all required public kitchens are already operating on condition that they are required to have a Sanitation Higiene Like Certificate (SLHS).

The same applies to 140 SPPGs to provide guarantees of feasibility as a kitchen that serves thousands of beneficiaries without unwanted things happening.

"For SPPGs that are in the process of taking care of SLHS until the end of the month, if it is not finished, we will recommend to BGN to be temporarily suspended, and for new kitchens, they must have a certificate before operating," he said.
