265 Of The Total 299 Victims Of MBG Poisoning In Garut Have Returned Home

JAKARTA - The Garut Regency Health Office (Dinkes) in West Java said as many as 265 of the total 299 victims of poisoning suspected from the Free Nutrition Food (MBG) menu in Kadungora District had recovered so they were allowed to go home.

"Pulang ke rumah masing-masing dalam kondisi baik, dan benar sudah 265 pasien," kata Kepala Dinkes Kabupaten Garut Leli Yuliani di Garut, Kamis.

He said the health team was still monitoring and treating victims of poisoning who were still undergoing medical treatment.

There were 27 patients who were still being treated at the Leles Health Center, then one person at the Kadungora Health Center, and six people were referred to the Dr. Slamet Garut Regional General Hospital (RSUD).

"A total of 34 patients are still being treated," he said.

He submitted the data based on the latest report on Thursday morning.

On the first day of the incident, Tuesday, September 30, there were 147 poisoning patients. The number increased by 139 people on Wednesday, October 1, and 13 new patients recorded Thursday, bringing the total to 299 victims.

He said that currently his party had taken food samples on the MBG menu consumed by victims for laboratory tests in Bandung, the results of which were obtained were around 10 to 15 days.

The samples examined, he said, consisted of milk, meat, and other types of food served in the MBG program for a number of schools in the Kadungora area.

The victims of the poisoning were students from four schools, namely SDN 3 Talagasari, SMPN 1 Kadungora, SMP PGRI, and SMA Annisa in Kadungora District. They were affected shortly after eating the MBG program menu on Tuesday 30 September.

The poisoning victim complained of the same pain, such as dizziness, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and feeling shortness of breath after eating MBG with a menu consisting of rice, beef, edamame beans, cabbage, cucumber, bananas, and packaged milk.
