The Attorney General's Office Confirms That Nadiem Makarim Is Undergoing Operations At The Hospital

The Attorney General's Office (AGO) confirmed that Nadiem Makarim, a suspect in the alleged corruption case in the procurement of a Chromebook laptop at the Ministry of Education and Culture in 2019-2022, underwent surgery at the hospital.

"Yes, the information in question is indeed sick, yes, surgery was carried out. It was delivered (the suspension of the detention period) at the hospital," said Head of the Legal Information Center (Kapuspenkum) AGO Anang Supriatna as reported by ANTARA, Monday, September 29.

Anang hinted that Nadiem was operated on due to ambeien illness. However, he did not reveal further about the illness suffered by the former Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Mendikbudristek).

He said it hurts in the 'it' section. Already (treated) at the government hospital," he said.

As for Nadiem's current condition, Anang has not been able to provide certainty.

"I don't know for sure. Later I will check whether direct operations have been carried out or later in the post-recovery stage," he said.

The AGO has named five suspects in the alleged corruption case at the Ministry of Education and Culture in the education digitization program for the 2019-2022 period.

The five suspects are JT (Jurist Tan) as the Special Staff of the Minister of Education and Technology in 2020 '2024. Then, BAM (Ibrahim Arief) as a former technology consultant at the Ministry of Education and Culture.

Then, SW (Sri Wahyuningsih) as the Director of Elementary School Directorate of Basic Education and Secondary Education at the Ministry of Education and Culture in 2020 2020 2021 as well as the power of budget user within the Directorate of Elementary Schools in the 2020-2021 fiscal year.

Next, MUL (Mulyatsyah) as Director of SMP of the Directorate of Basic Education and Secondary Education PAUD of the Ministry of Education and Culture in 2020 2020 2021 as well as the power of budget user in the first Middle School Directorate for the 2020-2021 fiscal year.
