Agus Suparmanto Elected As Chairman Of PPP, Rommy Says According To Party AD/ART

JAKARTA - Member of the Formatur Team and former Chairman of the United Development Party Advisory Council (PPP) Muhammad Romahurmuziy emphasized that former Trade Minister Agus Suparmanto was elected as General Chair of PPP for the period 2025-2030.

"We need to emphasize that the 10th PPP Congress in 2025 is over, and Agus Suparmanto has been elected along with 12 formaturs representing the Central Leadership Council and the PPP Regional Leadership Council throughout Indonesia who will start working tonight," said the man who is familiarly called Rommy as reported by ANTARA, Sunday, September 28.

Rommy explained that the Formatur Team will work to prepare the PPP management for the 2025-2030 period, namely for the next 30 days.

Meanwhile, he explained, the election of Agus Suparmanto as Chairman of PPP was in accordance with the articles of association and the household budget that regulates the requirements of the general chairman candidate.

"That's where (AD/ART) it is stated that the candidate for general chairman has the condition is to have a membership card, and that has been checked," he said.

In addition, he explained, Agus Suparmanto had met the requirements regarding his experience in serving in the executive, legislative and judicial fields at the central level.

"It is the consistency of what we received from the scholars gathered in the Ulama National Silatnas (National Gathering)il Ka'bah which was carried out at the Kempek Cirebon Islamic Boarding School on September 8, 2025," he explained.

Therefore, he reiterated that the election process for Agus Suparmanto was in accordance with the party constitution or the PPP AD/ART.

"We, the chairmen of the assembly who are present here, the leaders, the kiai, party officials at the central level, all of them are witnesses, and finally of course the presence of the Chief Justice of the United Development Party, Irfan Pulungan, who together we affirm is the constitutional process we have gone through," he said.

Previously, PPP held the 10th Congress in the Ancol area, Jakarta.

Then Mardiono in Jakarta, Saturday, September 27 evening stated that he was elected by acclamation as General Chair of PPP for the period 2025-2030.

He said the acclamation decision was taken to save the running of the congress which was considered already in an emergency situation.

Mardiono added that around 80 percent of the total participants agreed that the 10th Congress would take quick steps by selecting the general chairman by acclamation.

After that, the congress continued and decided Agus Suparmanto as the Head of PPP for the period 2025-20230.

Thus, there are now two parties who have declared themselves as the General Chair of PPP for the period 2025-2030 based on the decision of the 10th PPP Congress.
