Dismiss Sabotage Issues, Government Urged To Investigate MBG Toxic Cases

JAKARTA The political observer at the Citra Institute, Efriza, urged the government to seriously investigate cases of poisoning of beneficiaries of the Free Nutrition Food (MBG) program to dismiss allegations of sabotage that was deliberately designed to thwart President Prabowo Subianto's priority program.

"Evaluation and investigations are important so that they can also process various issues that occur, such as statements of sabotage attempts to thwart MBG," he said, Sunday, September 28, 2025.

According to him, in addition to overcoming the issue of sabotage, investigations and evaluations are needed to prove the issue of standardization of the implementation of the MBG program in the field. Efriza believes that MBG is not sabotaged, but indeed its implementation is chaotic.

"Indeed, the facts are chaotic, so the pressure to stop this program is very high," he added.

He emphasized that the investigation and evaluation carried out by President Prabowo and government officials must also touch the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) which has been trusted to be the executor of the MBG program.

BGN must also be an object of investigation and evaluation. Otherwise, MBG will actually become a stain on the bad record of the Prabowo-Gibran government program, "Efriza said.

Previously, the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) reported that 5,914 people were poisoned from the MBG program throughout Indonesia. This number is calculated from January to September 2025. From the data presented, in January there were 94 people affected by the poisoning, followed by 496 people in February, then 313 people in April and 433 people in May.

Then in July the number reached 380 people, August jumped to 1,988 and September to 2,210 so that the number of victims of MBG poisoning reached 5,914 people. Meanwhile, in March and June there were no cases of MBG poisoning.
