PEKANBARU- Riau Police Chief, Inspector General Herry Heryyawan held a Simultaneous Corn Harvest in the Third Quarter of 2025. This activity is part of a strategic program to support national food self-sufficiency, especially in Riau Province.

The Corn Harvest was held by the Riau Regional Police together with elements of Forkopimda and various stakeholders at the Horticulture Main Seed Center Complex (BBI), Jalan Kaharuddin Nasution, Air Cold Village, Bukit Raya District, Pekanbaru City, Saturday, September 27.

"Riau Police together with the TNI, local government, and related agencies will continue to oversee so that the purchase price of the government (HPP) is maintained in accordance with the provisions of the National Food Agency," said Herry Heryyawan.

of of the total corn area of 479.93 hectares managed by the Riau Police throughout the third quarter, 127.68 hectares were successfully harvested.

At the main harvest location this time, about 1.5 hectares produce 2 tons of corn, while the total harvest simultaneously in various districts/cities reaches 18 tons.

The man who is often called Herimen also stated that his party together with agricultural experts are developing a prototype of corn cultivation patterns, ranging from nurseries, maturation, maintenance, to harvest.

This model will later be trained to all Kapolsek of the Riau Police so that it can be applied in their respective regions. It is hoped that the results of the fourth quarter of the harvest will be maximized.

"Currently, we have prepared land of around 500 to 600 hectares which is in the treatment stage, and God willing, in the second week of October we will start planting simultaneously," he said.

This harvest activity was also attended by the Riau Provincial Secretary, Bulog representatives, the Agricultural Modernization Implementation Center, elements of the TNI, the ranks of the Riau Police PJU, and the local community.

According to him, the presence of these various parties is clear evidence of the spirit of collaboration in maintaining regional food security.
