Prabowo: New Palestinian Peace Achieved If Israel Also Guaranteed Its Security

JAKARTA - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto emphasized the importance of security guarantees for all parties in an effort to realize Palestinian peace "Israel". The statement was made by Prabowo in an interview with the media on the sidelines of a series of United Nations General Assembly (UN) sessions in New York, United States, Wednesday, September 24.

Prabowo called the opportunity to make a speech at the world forum an honor as well as an important moment to voice Indonesia's attitude towards global issues, especially conflicts in the Middle East.

"Yes, I think this is a tribute. I can talk, including being given a performance sequence, yes. After Brazil, which is always number one. America, which is always number two, has only given Indonesia the opportunity, is so respectful of Indonesia, respecting Indonesia," said Prabowo.

He emphasized that Indonesia used the UN stage to encourage conflict resolution in various parts of the world, with a special emphasis on the suffering of the Palestinian people in Gaza.

"Alhamdulillah, I used the stage to convey our attitude, Indonesia's attitude. Especially encouraging conflict resolution in all places. But most importantly for us, of course we really, really feel the screams of the suffering of the Gazan people. I think that," Prabowo said.

Prabowo said that many countries welcomed Indonesia's positive attitude which was considered realistic and balanced.

"A lot of positive ones, yes. Because we are also considered realistic, we are considered balanced," he said.

He stressed that the key to Palestinian peace "Israel" can only be achieved if all parties recognize each other and guarantee each other's security.

I also openly say Palestinian peace can only come if everyone recognizes, respects, and guarantees Israel's security. Israel must also be guaranteed security, then we can get peace, "said Prabowo.

Prabowo also responded casually to US President Donald Trump's comments praising his speech style at the United Nations as he called for Palestinian peace.

"He's humorous, yes. I'm actually not very aware that I was, yes (kicking the pulpit). Maybe that's just my style," he said.
