PKKMB UMJ 2025 Usung Theme Green Campus, Bima Arya Encourages Environmental Awareness

JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of Home Affairs (Wamendagri) Bima Arya Sugiarto advised new UMJ students about the urgency of concern for environmental issues. He conveyed this issue at the Campus Life Introduction activity for New Students (PKKMB) Muhammadiyah University Jakarta (UMJ) at the KH Auditorium. Azhar Bashir, Cendekia Building, Monday 22 September.

In his remarks, Bima Arya emphasized the importance of environmental awareness among the younger generation by raising the global warming issue which is now entering the global bouncing' phase. He emphasized that campuses must become real laboratories to build a green and sustainable lifestyle.

In 2025, PKKMB UMJ carries the theme Green and Sustainable Global Campus or the Global Green and Sustainable Campus. In line with this theme, Bima Arya invited 3,838 new students to imitate environmental movements from world leaders to local communities such as Greta Thunberg and Pandawara.

"If we don't do anything then we won't go anywhere. This campus must be a green, environmentally friendly, and globally empowered living space," he said.

The Deputy Minister of Home Affairs also emphasized his commitment to synergize with UMJ in building international networks and encouraging the creation of a green campus that is able to manage waste from upstream to downstream.

"I am ready to collaborate so that UMJ will become the pioneer of green campuses in Indonesia, as well as give birth to a generation of locally strong cosmopolitan, love for the homeland, and expertise in the global arena," he said.

Through this PKKMB, Bima Arya expressed his hope that new students not only hone academic competencies, but also characters, social networks, and humanist sensitivities.

"Considering classrooms with the university of life. Many read, are active in organization, and come with love for others and the environment," he told thousands of new UMJ students.

PKKMB UMJ 2025 is not only a place for welcoming new students, but also planting basic values so that they are able to grow into people with integrity who are environmentally friendly, innovative, and ready to face global challenges.
