A Month, Transjakarta 3 Times Accident: DPRD Call Management

A Transjakarta bus was involved in an accident crashing into a shop in the Central Jakarta area (Ist)

JAKARTA - Member of Commission C of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, August Hamonangan, said that his party would summon PT Transjakarta to provide information regarding the bus accident case that has occurred 3 times this month.

"We at the DPRD will meet with TransJakarta in the near future to discuss the issue. Hopefully, the public can oversee and pay attention to the meeting to obtain important information regarding this accident," August told reporters, Monday, September 22.

August asked the provincial government and TransJakarta management to immediately conduct a thorough investigation into the standardization of its fleet service operations.

Because, like those touted, TransJakarta has high standards in carrying out its services to the community.

"So, this accident must be investigated carefully why it can happen, along with what must be done in the future so that the same thing does not happen again later," said August.

August stressed that the investigation process must first find the exact cause behind the accident. That way, improvement steps can be formulated appropriately.

"As previously stated, there needs to be an investigation into the incident so that we know what caused the accident. Only after that, we can make conclusions about what the next steps need to be taken after the tragedy," he said.

For information, on Saturday, September 6, Transjakarta hit a shop on Jalan Raya Minangkabau, Setiabudi, South Jakarta. The incident resulted in a shopkeeper being injured.

Then, on Thursday, September 18, a Transjakarta bus was collided with a yellow truck in front of the Tarakan Regional General Hospital (RSUD), Cideng Village, Gambir District, Central Jakarta.

Then on Friday, September 19, a Transjakarta bus crashed into a kiosk, house, and vehicle belonging to a resident on Jalan Raya Cakung Station, Pulogebang Village, Cakung District, East Jakarta.

As a result of the incident, 6 people were injured, consisting of a driver or bus driver, a resident, and 4 customers.

DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung said he would evaluate Transjakarta services due to the bus accident that occurred some time ago.

It was recorded that in one month, the Transjakarta bus had an accident three times, ranging from hitting a building to being hit by another vehicle.

"We evaluate Transjakarta. Indeed, it's like this, sometimes it happens because someone cuts it and so on. So that way, of course we will fix it. It can't happen again," said Pramono at the Kemendikdasmen building, Central Jakarta, Sunday, September 21.
