BMKG Records 12 Small Earthquakes Shake Sukabumi And Bogor

The official accounts of the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) in Jakarta, Sunday, September 21, reported a series of earthquakes measuring from 2.3 to 4 magnitudes centered in Sukabumi and Bogor, West Java.

Starting from an earthquake measuring 4.0 magnitude centered in Sukabumi, West Java, on Saturday (20/9) at 23.47 WIB.

The coordinates of the earthquake were at 6.76 south latitude, 106.57 east longitude, 25 kilometers northeast of Sukabumi, West Java, with a depth of 10 kilometers.

Aftershocks centered in Sukabumi with strengths 2.3, 2.5, 2.6, and 3.8 magnitudes occurred Sunday from 00.00 to 01.59 WIB.

Meanwhile, the series of earthquakes centered in Bogor, West Java, occurred on Sunday starting at 00.18 WIB with a strength of 2.2 magnitudes, then at 00.22 WIB with a magnitude of 2.7, then at 01.45 WIB with a strength of 2.5 magnitudes, then at 01.47 WIB with a magnitude of 3.1 magnitude, and at 01.59 WIB with a strength of 3.8 magnitude.

Information on the BMKG official account stated that the earthquake was felt to the Queen's Port.

Until this news was made there was no information of any damage. However, a netizen with Defiffan's account on the TikTok Platform had videod the momentum of the earthquake that occurred with the narrative "Be very careful for residents of Bogor Regency today," he wrote.

"At 01.59 (WIB) there have been several earthquakes, so far this is the 12th earthquake," he wrote in the uploaded video.
