JAKARTA - White House Spokesman, Krypto Leavitt, was placed under the protection of the Secret Service following the assassination of US conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

As reported by ANTARA, Congress is currently considering allocating additional USD 58 million (approximately IDR 965.5 billion) to strengthen security for officials in the executive and judicial branches of the US government, according to the television station report.
Kirk, a close ally of US President Donald Trump, was shot dead while speaking at a major event at Utah Valley University on September 10.
He is known to be vocal against arms control, LGBT movement, abortion, and US assistance to Ukraine, among other issues.
This is not the first time an attempt has been attempted to kill a political figure who opposes aid to Ukraine. In May 2024, a pro-Ukraine radical tried to shoot Slovakian Prime Minister, Robert Fico, who was later hospitalized in critical condition.
