Weather Forecasted Cloudy And Rain In Various Regions Of Indonesia

JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts cloudy weather and rain with various intensities occurring in big cities in Indonesia on Saturday, September 19.

BMKG forecaster Raeni Chindi explained that cloudy weather is predicted to occur in Banda Aceh and Medan with the potential for light rain in Pekanbaru, Tanjung Pinang, Jambi, Palembang, and Pangkal Pinang.

In addition, moderate-intensity rain has the potential to occur in Padang and rain accompanied by lightning in Bandar Lampung and Bengkulu.

"The island of Java is predicted to be cloudy for Yogyakarta, thick cloudy for Serang. Light rain is predicted for the cities of Jakarta, Bandung, Semarang and Surabaya," he said quoting Antara.

For the Bali and Nusa Tengara regions, the three big cities are predicted to be cloudy with Denpasar, predicted by BMKG to experience thick cloudy, cloudy weather for Mataram and cloudy skies in Kupang.

Raeni said rain dominated major cities on the island of Kalimantan, including the potential for light rain in Pontianak and Samarinda as well as thunderstorms in Tanjung Selor and Palangkaraya, while Banjarmasin was forecasted to experience thick cloudy weather.

For Sulawesi, cloudy weather is predicted to be experienced by people in Gorontalo, Kendari, and Makassar, while the potential for light rain in Manado and Palu as well as moderate rain in Mamuju.

In eastern Indonesia, light rain is predicted by BMKG to fall in the areas of Ternate, Ambon, Manokwari, and Jayapura, while the potential for moderate-intensity rain is in Sorong, Nabire, Jayawijaya, and Merauke.
