Minister Of Culture Fadli Zon Supports The Revitalization Of Pamekasan Culture, Encourages The Establishment Of A Team Of Cultural Heritage Experts

JAKARTA - The revitalization of cultural heritage cannot wait. We must move quickly so that Pamekasan's history does not disappear," said Minister of Culture of the Republic of Indonesia Fadli Zon when receiving Pamekasan Regent Kholilurrahman at the Ministry of Culture Building, Jakarta, Jumar, September 19.

The meeting discussed two main agendas: the commemoration of the 495th Anniversary of Pamekasan Regency on November 3, 2025 and the proposed revitalization of important cultural sites in Madura.

Regent Kholilurrahman emphasized that the momentum of the five-century Pamekasan must be a trigger for accelerating cross-sectoral development. The Suramadu Bridge has long been established, but the impact for Pamekasan has not been maximized. This anniversary should be a turning point," he said.

He invited Menbud Fadli to attend a series of commemorations that will feature cultural nights, art appreciations, and daul music festivals typical of the Pamekasan community.

During the meeting, the Regent submitted three strategic proposals. First, revitalizing Ronggosukowati's Tomb, the tomb of the first king of Pamekasan as well as a study room for local history. Second, revitalizing the stone Ampar Tomb, the main pilgrimage destination and the community's spiritual heritage. Third, strengthening the Pamekasan Museum as a center for education and historical preservation.

Menbud Fadli welcomed the proposal and asked the Pamekasan Regency Government to immediately form a Cultural Heritage Expert Team (TACB). TACB is important to ensure that the determination and protection of the site is carried out professionally by certified experts," he explained. He also emphasized that the Ministry is ready to facilitate competency certification through LSP-P2 so that cultural experts can review and assess historical objects systematically.

Menbud Fadli closed the meeting with a commitment to central-regional synergy. "The revitalization of Pamekasan culture is part of the big face of national culture. We create it together," he said.
