West Java Governor Builds 25 Stage Houses In Karawang From The Promise Of A Thousand Units

West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi will only build 25 units of houses on stilts, of the promised thousand units of houses on stilts, as a flood solution that often hit Karangligar Village, Karawang Regency.

"The West Java Provincial Government will only build 25 houses on stilts in Karangligar Village, Karawang," said the governor after a coordination meeting with regional heads in Karawang, Thursday, September 18, reported by ANTARA.

In March 2025, Dedi promised to build a thousand houses on stilts for residents of Karangligar Village, Telukjambe Barat District, Karawang, as a solution to overcoming floods in the village.

But now Dedi insists that he will only build 25 houses on stilts in the area. Because the West Java Provincial Government has only received data on the willingness of 25 families who are willing to build houses on stilts.

"To this day, only 25 families have to build the house on stilts by the West Java Provincial Government," he said.

According to him, the West Java Provincial Government had previously asked the village government for data, and there had been a recommendation from the regent. However, until today the incoming data, only 25 families have to build a house on stilts.

On this matter, Dedi said that he would only build 25 units of stilt houses in Karangligar Village, Karawang, in accordance with the submission received.

For residents of Karangligar Village who are not willing to build a house on stilts, the West Java Provincial Government will provide incentives to replace houses on stilts.

"The provincial government will wake him up according to the proposal. The rest of us will provide incentives for residents who are not willing to build their houses," he said.

According to him, the flood problem in Karangligar Village will be handled comprehensively in 2026, with funding sourced directly from the state budget.

"In terms of handling the flood, the budget is from the state budget. But in terms of building his house, the provincial government will build 25 houses in accordance with the proposal," he said.
