JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) summoned two people regarding the alleged corruption of quotas and the implementation of Hajj in 20123-2024 at the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag). One of them is Hilman Latief, who has served as Director General of Hajj and Umrah since October 2021.
"The KPK has scheduled an examination of witnesses suspected of corruption related to the hajj quota for the implementation of the pilgrimage in 2023-2024," said KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo to reporters in his statement, Thursday, September 18.
Apart from Hilman Latief, the KPK also summoned Nasrullah Jasam as Head of the Indonesian Consulate General's Office for Hajj Affairs, Jeddah. Budi has not detailed the material for the examination of the two of them.
"The examination was carried out at the KPK's Merah Putih building," he said.
Previously reported, the KPK said that allegations of corruption related to quotas and the implementation of Hajj in 2023-2024 at the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) would enter a new chapter.
