DKI Provincial Government Closes Illegal Parking At BUMD Assets, Pramono: Deserves To Be Sealed

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency has sealed a number of parking spaces in private buildings and regional-owned enterprises (BUMD) in Jakarta. This sealing was carried out because the parking management at the location was illegal and unlicensed.

One of the parking points targeted for sealing is the land owned by Perumda Dharma Jaya in Milling and Pulogadung, East Jakarta.

Responding to this, DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung supported the sealing of parking locations on BUMD's land for animal slaughter and meat trade.

"I give my full support for that," said Pramono when met at Taman Mini Indonesia Indah, East Jakarta, Thursday, September 18.

The DKI Provincial Government is currently intensifying tax revenues and parking levies in Jakarta to enter the regional treasury. So, if there are parties operating to manage parking illegally, Pramono emphasized that sealing must be done.

"Yes, if a parking person or anyone who parks is then not licensed, it is sealed, then it is appropriate," he said.

For information, the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency's Parking Unit (UP) sealed two parking areas on Dharma Jaya's land, namely the Dharma Jaya Milling Slaughterhouse and Dharma Jaya Pulogadung, East Jakarta, on Wednesday, September 17.

This parking area is managed by a third party, namely PT Saranawisesa Propindo, which is a subsidiary of BUMD Perumda Pembangunan Sarana Jaya.

Head of UP Parking Dishub DKI Jakarta, Adji Kusampto, said that at least 24 parking locations had been sealed by the DKI Transportation Agency. This sealing was carried out after the parking operator ignored and corrected the permit after the third warning letter (SP3).

A similar action operation, continued Adji, is still ongoing in line with the supervision of the DKI Jakarta DPRD Parking Special Committee (Pansus).

"There are quite a lot of those that have been sealed, yes, around 20 locations have been sealed. Then for those who are not licensed. Because of this we are still running with the Special Committee, so the data is still running," said Adji, Wednesday, September 17.

Chairman of the Parking Special Committee for the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Jupiter, said that his party believes that there are more than 50 illegal parking operators.

The fraud of these operators, according to Jupiter, is detrimental to the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government because it has the potential to experience a 70 percent parking tax revenue leak with a nominal value of around Rp700 billion.

"Until today, we believe that illegal operators also have potential in terms of evading taxes, they do not report taxes and there is also potential in that direction," explained Jupiter.

"Therefore, we will compile and recommend comprehensively so that in the future we will install tools in real time integrated to Bapenda (Regional Revenue Agency)," he continued.
