The Police Reform Commission Is Estimated To Be Formed In October 2025

JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Law, Human Rights, Immigration, and Correction Yusril Ihza Mahendra, estimates that the Police Reform Commission will be formed in October 2025.

Yusril conveyed this after hearing directly the direction of President Prabowo Subianto. "In the next two to three weeks, his team will be formed," said Yusril when met at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, Wednesday, September 17.

According to him, Ahmad Dofiri, who has just been inaugurated as a special adviser to the president in the field of security, public order, and police reform, will be involved in the commission. However, Yusril admitted that he did not know who would lead the commission and its members.

"Later a presidential decision will be made regarding who is leading the commission," he said.

The plan to form this commission is a follow-up to the aspirations of the community, including demands from the Nation Conscience Movement (GNB) which contains a number of national figures and interfaith leaders.

At a meeting at the Presidential Palace, Thursday (11/9/2025), NAM directly submitted a request for evaluation and reform of the National Police to President Prabowo. The meeting lasted for three hours and was attended by several ministers of the Red and White Cabinet.
