Venezuela Accuses The US Of Carrying Out Intelligence Flights In The Caribbean

JAKARTA - Venezuela's Defense Minister, Vladimir Padrino Lopez, said the United States had carried out intelligence flights in the Caribbean region and areas close to its country.

"Every day in September, including last night, their intelligence aircraft and tankers refuel in the air. Intelligence and reconnaissance operations against Venezuela tripled in August," Lopez told Venezuelan state television channel VTV, reported by ANTARA from Anadolu, Monday, September 15.

Whatever information they collect is their own business. We are also carrying out our own internal intelligence processes. We are ready and able to intervene in every flight, both individually and collectively," he continued.

Padrino Lopez said his country knew what the US was doing and knew that the military deployment in the Caribbean was aimed at provoking war.

Diri also emphasized that the Venezuelan Armed Forces are ready to face any possibilities, as well as voice concerns over the potential for air accidents as the US does not report its flight plans.

Referring to the national military training program of the militia force, Padrino Lopez said on the orders of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, the training will continue every Saturday, and the militias will remain on alert to face possible aggression from the United States.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump had signed an executive order instructing wider and more effective military use to combat Latin American drug cartels on the pitch.

In that context, the US sent the destroyer USS Gravely, USS Jason total, and USS Spson, near Venezuela's coast at the end of August.

In response to this, President Maduro announced that he had deployed 4.5 million militia members across the country and was ready to ward off any attack.

Meanwhile, the US Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, said the country's military was ready to carry out regime change operations in Venezuela.
