SUKABUMI - An earthquake with a magnitude of 3.1 rocked Sukabumi Regency, West Java, Monday, September 15. The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) reported that the Jember earthquake occurred at 10.50 WIB.

The epicenter was at coordinates 7.03 south latitude (LS) and 106.65 east longitude (BT), or about 12 kilometers southeast of Sukabumi Regency with a depth of 10 kilometers.

"By paying attention to the location of the epicenter and the depth of the hypocenter, the earthquake that occurred was a type of shallow earthquake due to active fault activity," said Head of BBMKG Region II Tangerang Hartanto.

The impact of the earthquake was felt in the Bantargadung area, Parungkuda with an intensity scale of II - III MMI (vibrational vibrations felt by several people, light objects that were hung swaying - vibrations felt real in the house, vibration felt as if a truck had passed).

However, until now there have been no reports of damage to buildings as a result of the earthquake.
