JAKARTA - Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan visited the residence of The Chairman of Partai Amanat Nasional (PAN) Zulkifli Hasan on Thursday, May 13.

This meeting was conducted on a limited basis and Anies did not come with the group, but with his wife.

This was conveyed by the Chairman of PAN Faction of the House of Representatives Saleh Partaonan Daulay who was at the same location.

"Mr. Anies came, I was there yesterday. But because the meeting was limited, yes, we did not participate gathering. Who talked are Bang Zul and Sir Anies. As for me and my friends go home first", Saleh told reporters Friday, May 14.

He said Anies came around 18.00 WIB. At that time, the Zulhas house was visited by several people even though it has been announced that there is no open house.

Although he did not know what the two discussed, however, he saw Anies and the chairman generally seemed familiar. "About the content of the conversation, yes, only Bang Zul and Anies know", he said.

"From afar I saw, Bang Zul and Mr. Anies spoke quite intimately. The context, more on the relationship of Eid al-Fitr," added the member of the House of Representatives Commission IX.

Anies' visit contradicts his previous statements. In a video uploaded to his Instagram account @aniesbaswedan, the former Minister of Education and Culture asked the public not to make contact directly.

He asked all parties without exception should refrain and keep themselves from mobility. Moreover, currently, the COVID-19 pandemic is still not over.

"We all realize that the atmosphere of Eid must save the longing to visit our loved ones, with parents, with family in the hometown. But, we are still faced with a situation where we have to take care of ourselves", Anies said in an impression uploaded to his Instagram, Thursday, May 13.

He also suggested that anyone who wants to make a deal should be able to take advantage of existing technology.

"To protect our loved ones from exposure to COVID-19, that is why this celebration is expected that we all remain in contact but make use of technology to reduce direct interaction in contact", he said.

Anies hopes this year's Eid al-Fitr can bring blessings. "God willing we are victorious. Really win people whose discipline can really win against COVID-19", he said.
