Pelican Crossing Created In Front Of Cikini Station, Pramono: Now No Longer Need To Play Far

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government together with PT KAI have made a crossing or crossing lane on Jalan Pegangsaan Timur, to be precise in front of the entrance to Cikini KRL Commuter Line Station, Central Jakarta.

DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung said, with this crossing facility, residents who use the KRL Commuter Line no longer need to walk far from the end of the station or cross carelessly.

"I along with the City Hall ranks have decided we will make a zebra cross there and we will open it. So, people today, if they go to Cikini, there is no need to go too far. They can go straight to Cikini," said Pramono in the Gambir area, Central Jakarta, Monday, September 15.

Pramono explained that his party made a crossing in front of Cikini Station motivated by the habit of people crossing carelessly and climbing the station fence.

This was also addressed by KAI Daop 1 Jakarta by raising the fence to prevent KRL users from jumping over the fence again as a shortcut to the station. With the presence of this crossing ticket, Pramono hopes that no more residents will commit these violations.

"We appeal, ask, hope that the community will also comply with the things we have prepared for. We have completed the Zebra Cross," said Pramono.

Following up on public complaints regarding the fence at the entrance to Cikini KRL Station, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov) in collaboration with PT KAI will conduct a trial of opening the fence and installing a thin crossing on the east side of the station. This is done to facilitate the mobility of commuter line users when crossing and entering the station area more safely.

Head of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Secretariat's Bureau of Development and Environment, Iwan Kurniawan, said the fence began to operate actively on Monday. The trial of implementing the ticket crossing and opening the fence at the entrance to the station will adjust the commuter line operating hours, which is 05.00-24.00 WIB.

"We at the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government are trying to provide a solution to public complaints regarding fences at Cikini Station. In addition to preparing a complete crossing with safety traffic lights, we will also deploy Transportation Service officers and Satpol PP, to ensure that community mobility can run smoothly and safely," said Iwan on Saturday, September 13.

Furthermore, Iwan also appealed to users of vehicles crossing the east side of Cikini Station to obey traffic signs and prioritize safety. He also invited the public to use this ticket crossing facility in an orderly manner.

"Let's maintain order and comfort at Cikini Station by paying attention to personal safety. Please be careful when crossing the Pelican crossing that has been provided," he explained.
