The Ministry of Early Childhood Education, Basic Education, and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) ensures that schools affected by flooding in Bali Province will receive assistance with educational facilities and infrastructure.

The Director General of PAUD Dasmen, Gogot Suharwoto, said that his party has prepared an assistance program that will be realized in the 2026 fiscal year. We will provide assistance in the form of school infrastructure facilities and improvements so as to reduce the risk of the impact of flooding," Gogot said in a written statement in Jakarta, Saturday, September 13.

During his visit to Bali, Gogot was accompanied by the Head of the Bali Province Education Quality Guarantee Center (BPMP), I Made Alit Dwitama, inspecting a number of schools affected, including SDN 04 Dauh Puri, SDN 12 Dauh Puri, SDN 10 Paguyangan, and SDN 11 Paguyangan. In addition, the Ministry of Education and Culture also handed over assistance in the form of school equipment (school kit) for flood victims students.

"Temporary data noted that as many as 60 schools suffered severe damage, while 906 students and 74 teachers were directly affected by the flood," explained Gogot.

Based on basic education data (Dapodik), a total of 1,835 schools in Bali were affected. In detail, 214 schools in Badung Regency, 285 schools in Gianyar, 226 schools in Jembrana, 49 schools in Klungkung, 113 schools in Tabanan, and 948 schools in Denpasar City.

The flood disaster that occurred due to high rainfall on Tuesday, September 9 at 23.15 WITA not only damaged educational facilities, but also claimed lives. 16 people were recorded as affected, with 14 people dead and 2 people still missing, and 562 people forced to flee their homes.

Gogot emphasized the importance of continuing educational services for children even though they are in an emergency condition. "Education services must still be provided immediately to ensure that children continue to study even in post-disaster conditions," he said.
