JAKARTA - Residents of Gondang Manis Village, Bae District, Kudus, whose roofs collapsed due to heavy rains flushed the local area, assisted by building materials, money and basic necessities by the Kudus Regency Government (Pemkab).
"We together with the Head of Gondang Manis Village, the head of the RT, RW, were here after receiving reports from the public. The roof of Joko Sri Mulyono's house collapsed after heavy rains, and we as the government of Kudus Regency were here to provide assistance," said Kudus Regent Sam'ani Intakiris on the sidelines of handing over aid in Gondangmanis Village in Kudus, Friday, confiscated by Antara.
He hopes that this assistance can ease the burden on the family, while the government is here to provide the best solution.
The assistance distributed includes building materials such as zinc, light steel, and cement, as well as basic needs assistance such as basic necessities, blankets, ready-to-eat food, and drinking water. The assistance is also supported by the Office of Social Affairs, BPBD Kudus, Baznas, as well as volunteers.
Sam'ani hopes that the assistance can help accelerate the recovery of affected houses so that they can be occupied again safely and habitably.
He also reminded residents to always be vigilant against extreme weather that has the potential to cause disasters.
"If there is strong winds, you should immediately look for safe shelters to avoid potential falling tiles or other objects that endanger life safety," he appealed.
With the distribution of this assistance, the Kudus Regency Government affirms its commitment to always be present to provide protection and support to residents affected by the disaster.
Joko Sri Mulyono admitted that he was grateful for the assistance in the form of money, materials, toiletries, and basic necessities from the Kudus Regency Government and a number of parties, considering that the roof damage to the living room building was very severe due to the collapse after heavy rains on Wednesday (10/9/2025).

In addition to the living room, he said, the roof of one of the rooms also looks worrying, so there needs to be a complete replacement.
"If you can afford it, of course it will be repaired at your own expense. However, with the income of working as an uncertain angkringan worker, it is not enough to buy all the materials needed for the building," he said.
He admitted that he was lucky when the roof of the building collapsed, he was in the middle room, while his wife and children were waiting for his parents who were sick in another village.
The Kudus Regency Government is also recording uninhabitable houses to be proposed for rehabilitation assistance from private parties who have a simple livable housing assistance program (RSLH) through the corporate social responsibility program (CSR).
Based on data from the previous Kudus Regency Government, it was recorded that there were 6,000 units of residents' houses that were of concern to the government and 600 of them were in severe condition and needed assistance to become livable.
In 2025, it is targeted that repairs to uninhabitable houses (RTLH) in Kudus can be completed, following support from the private sector which completes the repair of 100 residences during 2024 with a budget of IDR 5 billion.
