Minister Of Home Affairs Instructs Poskamling To Be Reactivated

MAKASSAR - Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian instructed to reactivate the environmental security post (poskamling) in order to strengthen security, order, and increase public awareness of potential disturbances in security and public order (kamtibmas).

"This post or sikamling has existed since the 1980s, now it's just a matter of being reactivated which is no longer active," he said during a visit to Makassar, South Sulawesi, Thursday, September 11.

Tito said the postulation existed before that era, which was termed the night patrol.

In this regard, the Ministry of Home Affairs has issued a circular instructing all regional heads to reactivate the postulation.

The reason, said the Minister of Home Affairs, is that poskamling can be a means of discussion and interacting with each other, in addition to maintaining the safety of residents.

In addition, be aware of potential threats, such as street crimes, drugs, and the dangers of radicalism.

In addition to alluding to the activation of poskamling, Tito also explained that there were more than 342 proposed regional expansions from all over Indonesia.

"Where I am waiting for more than 342 proposals, the problem is the budget, each expansion needs a budget," he said as quoted by ANTARA.

According to him, to build one province, district or city, it requires a budget for the construction of its office, recruiting ASN personnel and operationalizing.

"So just pray that in the future our finances will improve," he said.
