JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia (BI) Filianingsih has finished undergoing an examination by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta today.

Filianingsih was examined as a witness to the alleged corruption of BI's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds and the Financial Services Authority (OJK) which ensnared the legislators of the Indonesian House of Representatives from the NasDem Satori Party faction and Heri Gunawan, who are legislators of the Indonesian House of Representatives from the Gerindra Party faction.

From observations in the field, he finished undergoing an examination at around 20.00 WIB. Filianingsih seemed accompanied by a number of parties.

"I came as a witness in the investigation case, yes," Filianingsih told reporters.

He emphasized that BI is ready to provide information needed by the KPK. Meanwhile, regarding CSR funds, Filianingsih said that the gift was not new.

CSR, continued Filianingsih, is a fund given as a form of accountability to the community. "That's a policy, a policy already exists, yes, from the beginning," he said.

Therefore, although BI is not a company that produces profits, CSR must be given.

"That's social responsibility, how we share help," said Filianingsih.

"For example, social awareness, scholarships, community empowerment. So it doesn't have to be a profit-oriented company, right, so the name is sharing like that," he continued.

As previously reported, the KPK officially announced the legislators of the DPR from the NasDem Party faction Satori and Heri Gunawan from the DPR from the Gerindra Party faction as suspects in the alleged corruption of the CSR BI funds.

Both are suspected of receiving gratuities and committing money laundering (TPPU).

The KPK suspects that Satori received a total of Rp12.52 billion in this case. In detail, Rp6.30 billion from BI; Rp5.14 billion from OJK through Financial Counseling activities; and Rp1.04 billion from other working partners of Commission XI DPR.

The money is allegedly used for personal needs, such as deposits, land purchases, showroom construction, purchases of two-wheeled vehicles, and purchases of other assets.

Meanwhile, Heri Gunawan received a total of Rp15.86 billion and used it also for personal gain. The details are Rp6.26 billion from BI; Rp7.64 billion from OJK through Financial Counseling activities; and Rp1.94 billion from other working partners of Commission XI DPR.

The money is accommodated in an account. Heri Gunawan then used it to build restaurants, manage drink outlets, purchase land and buildings to purchase four-wheeled vehicles.

The social funds received by the two suspects from BI and OJK were immediately distributed to four foundations managed by the Aspiration House Heri Gunawan and eight foundations managed by the Aspiration Satori House.
