The West Kalimantan High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) has again named and detained one suspect in the 2015 West Kalimantan Regional Development Bank (BPD) corruption case.

"The suspect with the initials RS was detained after undergoing an examination at the West Kalimantan Prosecutor's Office," said Assistant for Special Crimes at the West Kalimantan Prosecutor's Office, Siju, in Pontianak, Thursday, confiscated by Antara.

He revealed that the hospital had previously been summoned by investigators three times, but had never fulfilled the summons. For this matter, investigators coordinated with the West Kalimantan Attorney General's Intelligence Division to track down the whereabouts of the person concerned.

"On Tuesday night (9/9) at around 20.30 WIB, a joint team of investigators together with intelligence from the West Kalimantan Attorney General's Office and AMC, the Indonesian Attorney General's Office managed to secure the suspect at his private home in the Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) area, Jakarta. The person concerned was then immediately flown to Pontianak for questioning," he said.

In this case, the land acquisition carried out in 2015 includes the purchase of a land area of 7,883 square meters with a total value of Rp99.1 billion. From the results of the investigation, the act of the hospital together with the defendant PAM who had been sentenced and three other defendants who were still undergoing trial resulted in state financial losses of more than Rp39.8 billion.

After the examination, the official hospital was named a suspect and detained at the Pontianak Class II A Detention Center for the next 20 days, starting from September 10, 2025.

For his actions, the hospital is suspected of violating Article 2 paragraph (1) and Article 3 in conjunction with Article 18 paragraph (1), (2), (3) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption which has been amended by Law Number 20 of 2001, in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) of the 1st Criminal Code.

"The West Kalimantan Prosecutor's Office will continue to thoroughly investigate this case as part of its commitment to eradicating corruption that is detrimental to state finances and injures public trust," he said.
