Cirebon Police Intensify Alcohol Raids And Illegal Drugs

CIREBON - Cirebon Police, West Java, intensified raids on illegal liquor (alcohol) and hard drugs in the Cirebon Regency, West Java, in early September 2025 to maintain security and public order.

Cirebon Police Chief Kombes Sumarni said that from the raids held, officers managed to confiscate hundreds of bottles of traditional alcohol and manufacturers of various brands.

He detailed that in this intensified raid activity, officers confiscated 263 bottles of alcohol on Wednesday. The day before, 112 bottles were also secured.

"The evidence was obtained from several sub-districts such as Arjawinangun, Gegesik, Klangenan, and Jamblang," he said in Cirebon, Antara, Thursday, September 11.

Sumarni said that the alcohol sellers who were caught in raids had been processed with minor crimes (tipiring) in accordance with applicable regulations. According to him, this kind of operation continues to be carried out regularly both by the Cirebon Police and the ranks of the police to suppress the circulation of alcohol in the community.

Apart from alcohol, he said, officers also arrested a man with the initials MR (23), a resident of Greged District, Cirebon Regency, for being proven to be circulating limited hard drugs without permission.

He said MR was arrested at his home on Tuesday (9/9) at around 13.00 WIB, with the confiscated evidence in the form of 66 tramadol items, 81 trihex items, Rp195,000 in cash allegedly the proceeds from the sale and a mobile phone.

"The perpetrator is still being investigated further and charged under Article 435 in conjunction with Article 138 of Law Number 17 of 2023 concerning Health with a maximum penalty of 12 years in prison," said Sumarni.

He emphasized that the Cirebon Police are committed to eradicating illicit drug trafficking and other illegal drugs, including limited hard drugs that are prone to misuse.

The police chief also asked the public to play an active role in reporting crimes in their respective environments, so that the police can immediately follow up.

"Every report that comes in will be immediately responded to. Community participation is very important to maintain environmental security and a conducive atmosphere within the jurisdiction of the Cirebon Police," he said.
