Prabowo-Dasco 4 Eyes At The Palace Bahas 6 Points DPR Agrees On People's Demands 17+8

JAKARTA - Cabinet Secretary (Seskab) Teddy Indra Wijaya stated that President Prabowo Subianto discussed the current situation in the country with Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Wednesday, September 10.

Teddy explained that the one-on-one meeting between President Prabowo and Dasco took place during the day.

"The meeting discussed various things, ranging from the latest developments in the country, to a number of priority programs and government policies," said Seskab Teddy explaining the contents of the meeting when contacted in Jakarta, Wednesday afternoon, which was confiscated by Antara.

Teddy continued that President Prabowo also received reports from Dasco regarding several points of decision taken by the DPR to respond to public demands in the last few days.

The points of decision mentioned by Teddy refer to the six points of agreement agreed by all factions of the DPR political party to respond to the demands of the people 17+8. Six points of the agreement were announced by Dasco at a press conference at the Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Friday, September 5.

The first point, the DPR agreed to stop the provision of housing allowances for members of the DPR RI starting on August 31, 2025. The second agreement, the DPR stipulates a moratorium on working abroad for members of the DPR RI as of September 1, 2025, except for attending state laws. Third, the DPR will cut allowances and facilities for members of the DPR after the evaluation includes subscription fees.

"There is electricity and telephone service costs, then intensive communication costs and transportation allowance fees," said Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives Sufmi Dasco.

Fourth, members of the DPR RI who have been deactivated by their political parties have not paid their financial rights, including salaries and allowances. The fifth agreement, the leadership of the DPR follows up on the inactive status of several members of the DPR RI who have been determined by their respective political parties by asking the Honorary Court of the DPR RI to coordinate with their respective political party courts.

The sixth point, the DPR RI promises to strengthen transparency and meaningful public participation in the legislative process and other policies.

Dasco continued that the six points of the agreement had been signed by the Chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, and the deputy chairman of the House of Representatives, namely Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, Saan Mustopa, and Cucun Ahmad Syamsurizal.

Meanwhile, regarding government priority programs, President Prabowo on Tuesday 9 September also chaired a limited meeting, which was attended by several ministers. During the meeting, the President discussed developments in the implementation of programs such as the construction of 80,000 Red and White Village Cooperatives, the new planting of 870,000 hectares of people's gardens, then the Kampung Fishermen Merah Putih program which is targeted to target 100 villages, revitalizing ponds along the north coast of Java (Pantura) covering an area of 20,000 hectares, and modernizing 1,000 fishing boats.
